News about the site, updates and additions
August 2009
Added link to short video clip of HMS Nabob taken during her
work up in June 1944.
December 2008
Completed updating the page
templates to incorporate the font scaling feature on all pages
and some security fixes.
Testing for compatibility on Firefox 3 showed a few flaws and
some features of IE that are not supported by Firefox; these
issues have been corrected, in particular the roll over text on
images function of IE - this is IE specific so is being removed
and image captions will be added below the graphic.
Ships badges and mottos: the
correct badges and mottos are now in place - apologies for the
delay in establishing just which badges were actually issued and
have an authorised Admiralty Sealed Pattern. There are several
unofficial badges which will be made available in a future
update, these appear to be designs in use by ships prior to the
authorised badge being issued - these have caused some confusion
in the past but thanks to the Admiralty Ships Badges
Encyclopaedia by T. P. Stopford (2008) this has been
cleared up.

August 2006
This is the first
entry in this new page, I decided to add a news page after
making several changes to the site and thought that you, the
visitor, may like to be kept informed about what has changed,
been added or taken away.
There are now 22
ship histories that have an entry of some kind (some are more
comprehensive than others), I have been attempting to work
through them alphabetically but requests for information has
seen a number being tackled out of turn. Some histories have taken
precedence over the alphabetical
plan - i.e. Nabob and Puncher when working in collaboration with
the Canadian aviation enthusiast Patrick Martin who was researching the two Canadian manned CVEs for a book.
