This leaflet was given to each member of the ship's company present at the ceremony when the ship was transferred to the custody of the Admiralty and commissioned into service as HMS SLINGER, Wednesday August 11th 1943. at the Willamette Iron & Steel ship yard, Portland, Oregon.
