Elizabeth Britten
« on: 27 November 2014 02:52:32 pm »

I am trying to find out more about my father's cousin, Elizabeth Britten, who died 4th May 1945. She is buried in her home village of Hilton, Cambridgeshire. Elizabeth was a Leading Wren (service number 24783). We would like to know if possible if she succumbed to injuries sustained or from an illness. We have no idea what she did within the Wrens or where she was when she was injured/taken ill.

Have you her death certificate? That usually gives some information about the cause of death.

Hello Graham,

I don't have a death Certificate but my Uncle told me she died of Pneumonia, due to her ship being sunk. Any ideas where I might be able to find this information?

Regard,

Don
