Hello, I am Hoping someone can help me understand some entries on my grandfather's records. I have been given a copy of his P&V ledger and two of the entries list the ship/shore establishment as Duty - R2 BC. One of these entries past a from September 1943 - September 1944 so encompasses D-Day. Does anyone know what this means?

From the rest of the entries it looks like he was heavily involved with landing craft LCA's and LCT's and be was on HMS Glengyle in 1943 when she was involved in the landings on Sicily and Palermo before going to Bombay. I do remember him talking about Italy and being in Bombay.I

Thanks in advance
