Royal Navy - trying to find a Ship
« on: 15 July 2021 11:18:54 am »

Evening Everyone,

I need your help. I'm trying to research someone that Served in Royal Navy in 1940's during World war two.

I've confirmed 1944 he served Cruiser on HMS Berwick (https://www.centralwesterndaily.com.au/story/1317718/russian-honour-for-war-service/)

His Marriage certificate says 1948 he was serving on "HMS Gispin" (it was in handwriting so could be wrong) but I cant find any ship with that name on it.

Can anyone help me find the right ship name?

Have you obtained his Service Record ?   That will tell you what ships he served on and when ...

As for 'Gispin', then it clearly is mangled - perhaps Crispin?
