Title: Fathers Service Number
Post by: Nigel Bryan on 28 July 2019 03:04:31 pm
Is there any way that I can find my Fathers service number. I know he served during WWII, his age etc but everything I try to do they ask for his service number which I don't have. He passed away in 1984 and apart from myself and my Siblings there is no one else that can give me information.

You shouldn’t need a service number

If you give full name place of birth date of birth and date of death with death certificate they will search for you

The Royal Navy records will charge £30 for his records

The medal office is free to find out what medals he was issued
