Title: Help with Father's Service record
Post by: RichF on 11 May 2018 09:38:11 am
An entry on my Father's Service Record reads "Momit Stewart (M.F.V.)  7 June 44"
I initially thought this would be the name of a requisitioned fishing vessel but am now wondering if it was a shore base from which M.F.V s operated.  Either way I have been unable to find any information.

Please can anyone tell me anything about Momit Stewart?

I would suggest that you are misreading the entry - it is likely to be Mount Stewart

Mount Stewart was the naval unit established at Teignmouth in Devon: it served as the base for training men to serve in small craft and special duties
