Title: HMS Derby
Post by: Dennis Patterson on 19 March 2014 10:48:52 am
Photographs and info required regarding HMS Derby (ex HMS Dawlish) Built by Clyde Shipbuilding. Launched August 1918 Scrapped 1946.

I am trying to obtain photographs of this ship and a record of her service history. What little I have is from Jane's Fighting Ships 1918-18. I would be most grateful for any help, assistance or advice on how I may progress my search for information

Hi Dennis,
My grandad served on HMS Derby after the First World War and kept a record of his time minesweeping in the Dardanelles (he was also there during the war).  I've recently typed it up and added in some of the photos he has of the ship and some of the crew.  Hopefully it's attached but if it's not let me know and I'll try again!
All the best,
Helen
