A history of 1843 Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Air Squadron

March 1953 - March 1957

 

Formation

marine squadron by renumbering No.1830A Squadron. 1830A had formed at RNAS Donibristle on 1 October 1952 as an offshoot of 1830, and formed part of the Scottish Air Division of the RN Volunteer Reserve, later being promoted to full squadron status. The new squadron shared a pool of aircraft with 1830.

R.N.V.R. Air Branch disbands

Due tor defence spending cuts the R.N.V.R. Air Branch was axed in 1957, the organisation and its squadrons ceased to exist on March 10th 1957.
