Thank you. Much appreciated. The only ships my late father seemed to talk about were HMS Findhorn and HMCS Chilliwack, so now I understand why. I have his passes for those ships.
Thanks again. Philip L |

In regard to my father's service record-Ships served on in WW2. My father, Norman Charles Lock served, as Radar operator, on Royal navy ships and a Canadian Royal navy ship, HMCS Chilliwack.
But I found out that some of the names are not ships but are land bases. I think Collingswood is one and I think there was one in the former Ceylon. I would be interested in some more information about the land bases if possible. Thank you. Philip L |

Hopefully the names that did not fit in last scan are on this one. I turned it the other way round. I had to reduce the size, causing names not to fit on the photo.

Rear of photo. Royal Arthur Class 207.
Sorry It is saying the file (rear of photo) is too large. It is actually about the same as the front of the photo. I may try again some time. Do not understand. My father, Norman Lock is 6th from your left in the rear row as you look at the photo. There seems to be about 29 names on the rear of the photo. Some of the writing takes a lot to work out. But some clear ones are. W Robinson, Birmingham. Walter Potts, Macclesfield. FJ Mullett Birmingham. Philip L |

My father, Norman Charles Lock, was in the Royal Navy in WW2 from 1942 to 1946. I have a photo of Royal Arthur Class 207. Other Class members of Class 207 have put their names on the rear of the photo.
It would be nice to put names to faces in the Class 207 photo with the 80th Anniversary of end of WW2 in 2025. My father was born in February 2024 and died in November 2021. Does anyone know who the other 207 Class members are. My father went on to receive the Atlantic star and Burma star. Norman was a radar operator and served on a Canadian war ship, HMCS Chilliwack (For the British Royal navy) at one stage of the war. Protecting shipping in the Atlantic. Norman also served in the Pacific later in the WW2. Thankyou Philip L |

During World War 2 my father, William Jesse Moore, was a Colour Sergeant in the Royal Marines
From September 1943 to August 1944 he was listed as Portsmouth Division and the next line on his service record is 18 August 4 November: HBL (which I believe is Home Based Ledger), RH Tiger Group. From 5 November he is listed as Braganza, which I take to be HMS Braganza, the shore base in Bombay and he was there until 16 January 1946. It sounds a fairly hellish posting. There were several service deaths from illness; RM OHalloran died of heat stroke in June 1945, although he was only 36 years old; and I know my father caught malaria there and from then on had a lifelong hatred of eating rice! Can anyone tell me what RH Tiger Group means? When he is listed as posted to Braganza would that mean he is actually in India, or could he be in transit to this posting, or is the RH Tiger Group his movement from the UK to Bombay? Thanks for your help, Arthur |
