<description><![CDATA[<p>Per Sub Lt Vogan, he was flying CAC Boomerang A46-76 on the day, not a Corsair IV.......1523hrs 30/05/45 when a/c crashed some 8 minutes into a non-operational local flight by RNFAA Pilot who was flying it for the first time*. a/c had dived into a hillside vertically near Menangle RAAF Station, NSW. Pilot: Sub Lt Kenneth Ernest Vogan RNVR (1843 Sqn RNFAA flying Vought F4U Corsair IVs) was killed. TThrs 541.20hrs. 28/06/45 Write-off per AMSE File#9/16/2628 Minute #1 dated 07/06/45. Installed P&amp; W R-1830 S3C4-G Engine #23310 Written off. Note * Acting CO with two 83 Sqn RAAF Flight Commanders and two other pilots flew over to Royal Naval Air Station Schofield earlier that morning and had been checked out successfully on Corsairs, and so a reciprocal trip to Menangle later that day with a flight of four Corsairs accompanying home these Boomerangs, where upon RN FAA Pilots test flew them after some familiarization.
