My father Sub Lt R.W Mullins aka 'Bill Mullins' was a pilot with 807 Sqn on HMS Hunter from June to September 1945.

Hi, My Father served on HMS Hunter and Stalker in 807 squadron. His name was 'Mac' B, Heath Mcgeoch. I am trying to find out any information on what it was like serving on the air craft carrier as a mechanical engineer. He never talked to us about his war experience, which I understand more now I am older. He sadly passed in 2010, aged 88 years:shocked.

If anybody has any info or photos, I would be very interested. I believe he served on HMS Stalker too.

My Grandfather Lt Eric Speakman flew Seafires on HMS Hunter in 1944 and was sadly killed in active service in August 1944. We know very little of his time during the war and I would very interested to read anything you may feel you can share. (This appeal would go to all contributors.)

My grandfather started out as a Navy midshipman in HMS Duncan and moved on to be a pilot. we know he trained in Canada and flew swordfish and Seafires... but this is I am afraid about it.

Thank you for this. My grandad served on this ship. Never met him but the resource is fabulous to imagine what stories he might tell.

My late father-in-law, Peter Webb, flew with 807 Squadron from HMS Hunter from April, 1944 to the end of the war. I'm currently editing his recollections of that time, and the history here is very useful. If anyone reading this knows of any surviving pilots from 807, or has any photographs (Peter lost most of his in a fire after the war) I'd love to hear from you. Thanks and best wishes, Jon

I visited a patient last night who served on this ship, flying the Seafires. He was in his mid 90's and very old and frail, but what a privilege.

Hi,
My father was on board HMS Hunter serving in 807 squadron.
He never tapked about his campaigns, but left a small diary of the ebbs and flows of squadron life.
He was an aircraft engineer.
I wonder if you know any more from your relative?

My father Reuben Turner also served on HMS Hunter as a radio operator and I have his photograph album. It contains the photograph seen above of the Seafire crashing on to the deck.

hi great website,my grandfather dennis sweetlove served on hms hunter as a radio operator I have some lovely photos & still have hes Chelsea 24hr clock which he required before he left service: also I have the ships bell from this vessel much treasured items. would love to hear from anyone who knew my grandfather in those war years.

Hi my great uncle served on the HUNTER Hi my great uncle served on the HUNTER I have 3 photos of the whole crew that served on her.

Sadly my uncle passed away but he left me a photo album of the hunter packed with pictures & mishaps of sea fires.

I have been searching for this information for my father who served on Hunter for many years now, and have passed on all the web pages for him to read, he is now 91 and lives in Ballina NSW Australia. We often look at his photo album and relive his war service stories.
