This is to correct and enrich the history of HMS Reaper. HMS Reaper did not arrive at Bermuda in early February 1946 it was on Thursday, 9 May 1946:please see attached "cutting" from The Royal Gazette of Friday,10 May 1946 recording the arrival of passengers on the Reaper the day before, including Sir Ralph Leatham. Isabella Brewer, with her children Veronica and Martin, embarked on HMS Reaper at Glasgow on 24 April 1946: please see attached copy of the embarkation form. Sir Ralph Leatham having arrived on HMS Reaper was sworn in as Governor on 10 May 1946: please see cutting from the front page of The Royal Gazette of that date.

On the voyage across the Atlantic I saw aeroplanes, which at the time I thought were bi-planes, being pushed off the back of the aircraft carrier.

H.M.S. Reaper did not visit Bermuda in February 1946. Passengers, including my mother, sister and me (and Admiral Sir Ralph Leatham), boarded H.M.S Reaper at Glasgow, Scotland on 24 April 1946 and arrived in Bermuda on Thursday, 9 May 1946 the day that Sir Ralph disembarked and was sworn in as Governor. Documented: a copy of my mother's departure form; and Royal Gazette (Bermuda) articles of 10 May 1946.

Fascinating article! My father served aboard the Reaper. He is 93 years young and I will definitely share this with him. Would love to find a crew list as well. Thanks!

Is there a crew list as my dad was a cook aboard her but he was a c241x attached to the RN

Thank you. I'm so pleased you compiled all this information. My father was an engineer on the Reaper. Not sure of the dates but I do remember him telling me he was on board when the Reaper was deployed in the Pacific.

Thank you for putting this page together. My Dad served on HMS Reaper from November '44 to May '46 and I never really knew until now what he'd been involved with.

Thank you for this fantastic information. My Dad served in the Radar Dept of HMS Reaper from November '44 to May '46 and I have always wondered what actions he was involved in as he never spoke about the war.
