Hi Roy, would your friend remember identical twins, Ken & Jeff, who were brand new Petty Officers in 1950. The HMS Triumph left port in the UK at o400 on that June morning with these two young sailors aboard.

Is the following from Wikipedia correct? If so the third sentence of this fine article needs amending.
In December 1945 the British Pacific Fleet was disbanded and its forces were absorbed into the East Indies fleet. In 1952 The East Indies Fleet was renamed the Far East Fleet. After the Second World War the East Indies Station continued as a separate command to this one until 1958.

Hello My father served on HMS Triumph in 1950 Subic bay in korean war.His name is Rear Admiral Mahmoud Naseeb Enver (Retd).At that he was junior officer mid ship man in British Navy. and then he went to Pakistan and join Pakistan Navy

Hi Roy my late father Colin Rose served on HMS Triumph in 1950 I have a picture of the ship off Subic bay at that time and my pops having a drink with 2 of his navy pals I replied to Lizzy Pannell on here with my e-mail hope you can see that reply? if so if you hover mouse just after where it says my "email is" it should show

David,I wonder if my long lost father, Harold Kramer, who I am trying to find out about, was one of the pals? Was late teens to early 20s when sailed on Triumph. Went to Far East. Was stationed in Culdrose, Cornwall. He is my long lost father but he sadly died before I got to meet him, in the late 70s. I am so hoping to find any memories of him. I have 1 pic of him with a few Navy pals. I wonder how I can share this.

Ps Roy Bowdery. My father was at Royal navy base Culdrose. I have never met anyone who remembers him as he was rather an elusive character. If your friend has any memories I would be eternally grateful. My dad would be 89 if alive today. He was from London...

Hi my father was on Triumph at this time. Harold Kramer of Jewish origin. He was early 20s. I never knew him so any info or memories gratefully received. I have a pic of him if I am able to share. He died sadly in 1976.

Wonderful article. I note that "On the 30th August HMS Triumph returned to Sasebo in Japan to replenish stores and receive the last six Seafires and eight Fireflies from HMS Unicorn". There are earlier references to receiving additional planes. Do you know how many of each were boarded between June 25 and August 30?
