My father Jack Brown I’m not sure of his rank but I believe it was Chief Petty Officer engine room. He didn’t say much about it, but I do remember him telling me about taking the Bedouin on tow and then having to release it after being attacked again. He then said it came back to UK for repairs, and he brought my mum and sister to where the ship was being refitted, it then left under sealed orders leaving my mum and sister in their lodgings unaware he had left! He was on it when it sank off Algeria, fortunately he survived the war, continuing on the mine sweeper HMS MUTINE.
