THIS CAMP WAS USED IN 1955-1961 BY MOD AS A BASE FOR NATIONAL SERVICE MEN WORKING AT ESKMEALS TESTING SITE. I HAD A WONDERFUL 18 MONTHS THERE 1959/1961 GOING OUT MOST DAYS TO OBSERVATION POSTS "UP THE COAST". BEST TWO YEARS OF MY LIFE!!!

This camp was leased by T.A Leonard of Co-operative Family Holidays and in 1947, it must have been, my family stayed there. Children were in dormitories but young children were with their parents, who had to help with washing up after meals ona rota basis. I well remember this my first holiday after the war and would have been 11, I am now 84. The venture for Thomas Leonard was apparently a financial disaster. I am doing family history and it was so exciting to find this website. any other information you may have would be appreciated.
