SPDC Hampstead Norris

Hi, In Feb 1947 the RN took over RAF Hampstead Norris (a former satellite of RAF Harwell) in West Berkshire to house the Spare Parts Distribution Centre. It stayed until March 1950 when it was moved to Eaglescliffe if I remember correctly. All I know about it is that it was used to store engine spares (but what else?) and I believe that the first CO was Ray Rutherford-Brown. Does anyone have anything to add to this or is able to point me in the right direction. There seems to be nothing at Kew, unless it is under an obscure description.
