Timothy Warner (London, Greater London, UK) says...

HMS Turnstone Fulham ran among the length of Townmead road along the river thames it was a royal marine commando training camp a row of houses where built there to train royal marine commando's to go from door to door room to room when they when they got into Europe from D.Day 1944 the British police officer's could not train the royal marine commando's as it was not in there training until after the war so New York police officer's trained royal marine commando's to do at HMS Turnstone Fulham as they where trained to do this, this information is in the Hammersmith and Fulham library history archives Hammersmith library London England UK and was put out on the b b c 1 news year's ago.
