August 1944 operations with the Home Fleet and damaged by a torpedo


 

 

August 22nd 1944 Above: HMS BICKERTON is struck by a torpedo fired from HMS VIGILANT in order to scuttle her once all her crew had been taken off. Below: HMS KEMPTHORNE prepares to receive survivors from NABOB.
